Learning the Values of Hardwork and Perseverance through SEDP

Life in this island barangay in Tabaco City was challenging, with limited access and scant opportunities. Before joining SEDP in 2006, Jonavy's family relied on her husband's skills as a mat maker and occasional work as a share fisherman. With two children to support, their income was barely sufficient.
Despite doubts about affording the weekly payments, Jonavy 's determination and faith led her to join SEDP and obtain her first loan for a food vending startup.
Over time, her husband found work as a baker, prompting Jonavy to transition from being an ambulant vendor to selling at a school canteen, which sustained their family for a decade. With the help of loans from SEDP and savings, they eventually ventured into a bakery business, which was tragically destroyed by the COVID-19 pandemic and Typhoon Rolly.
Undeterred, they rebuilt the bakery with additional support from SEDP and vowed to create a resilient structure. Through SEDP, Jonavy learned the values of hard work, discipline, and perseverance, finding strength in weekly bible reading sessions and her faith. Despite ongoing challenges, their bakery business thrives, and they've made significant progress, including constructing a two-story concrete residential building and providing for their children's education. Jonavy is immensely grateful for SEDP's trust and support, which has transformed their lives.
