Members of Simbag sa Pag-asenso, Inc., (A Microfinance NGO) in Sorsogon area initiates a simultaneous clean-up drive to combat the dengue outbreak in the province last September 20, 2019, Friday.

Said members of different centers coming from the four (4) branches of Sorsogon who participated in the said activity, namely Pilar, Castilla, Sorsogon City, and Bulan branch, cleaned suspected areas in their barangay where mosquitoes take place to multiply.

Said activity is in connection with the province’s large number of dengue cases according to the data of the Department of Health Center for Health Development (DOH CHD) Region 5 last July 2019, wherein five hundred thirty-seven (537) victims were recorded.

The clean-up drive is one of the members’ ingenuity to lend help to other people and in their community. These kinds of activities like the Brigada Parokya are being held in different places covered by SEDP with the help of their respective branches.

Organizing these said activities are manifestations of real empowered women who lives-out the Christian-life and the principle of solidarity.
