SEDP’s Simbag Salud served 500 members in Northern Samar Members

SEDP’s Members Development Services (MDS) together with the Catarman Branch Staff facilitated Simbag Salud or Medical Mission in the Most Holy Name of Jesus Parish in Bobon, Northern Samar.

The medical mission, that started at six in the morning after a Holy Mass  held in the Most Holy Name of Jesus Church, served 500 SEDP members and their dependents.

“The municipalities of San Jose, Bobon and Catarman were the covered areas of this medical mission. Out of the 500 recipients, 120 were listed for optical check-up,” Dexter Barnuevo, the Catarman Branch Manager said during the event.

These free services to the members and also to their dependents was done with the help of volunteers from Albay and Northern Samar Provinces.

“Our doctors, dentists and volunteers come from the Provincial Health Office of Northern Samar and also from the Municipal Health Unit of Bobon which we coordinated through the Governor,” Hermarex Ordan, Area Manager said.

Members and their dependents availed free services like visual acuity test, tooth extraction, medical check-up, free medicine and eye glasses.  Free soup for everyone was also distributed.

Out of joy, members could not contain expressing their appreciation of having a medical mission facilitated in their place.

“I’m so grateful to be a SEDP member, this medical mission is a great help for us.”  Bella Tejano a member from Brgy. 10, Gen. Lucban, Bobon said.

Dako na salamat, maupay kay nakabulig sa mga tawo.” (A big thanks, it’s great because it helped the people) Liza Escalante, a member from Sta. Clara, Bobon said.

“Maupay gad kay nagka-yaon medical mission, malaking tulong para saamin.” (It’s great to have this medical mission, this is a big help for us.) Erlinda Agasang a member from Magsaysay, Bobon said.

The mission was completed at around 12:00 pm.
